One of the most highly sought after types of homes in all of Manhattan Beach are the “walkstreet” homes that are found only in the sand
section. What makes these homes so special is that the homes don’t front a street, but pedestrian only sidewalks. This not only make for a safe feeling (no cars) but the walkstreets make for a very social vibe. It’s not rare to see block parties and it’s a favorite for the kids of the neighborhood.
Many of the homes on the 100 and 200 blocks sit on a pretty healthy slope and homes can have great views. As there is good separation due to the walkstreets most of the newer homes at least have great views from the front. Some older homes are set back a ways and don’t have the same views but certainly have potential.
While many of the older homes have been knocked down to make way for the large new construction, there are still a good number of original beach bungalows.
Older homes generally sell in the mid 3.0M price point with new construction view homes pricing in the mid $8,000,000s and up. Much depends on the age and views. The rare “unblockable” view homes price even higher. See only new construction walkstreet homes in Manhattan Beach.
The lower number streets flatten out a few blocks up and while the homes enjoy the same social community feeling, views are rare.
