As Hermosa Beach is such a small coastal town, the school system currently consists of only 2 schools. Hermosa View Currently serves K-3 and Hermosa Valley School currently serves 4-8. The reason we say currently is that a bond measure was passed to create a new school serving 3rd and 4th grade at the sight of the old North School. All of the schools are extremely highly rated and parent participation, both in the classrooms and through the Hermosa Ed Foundation are impressive. As residents of Hermosa Beach our kids both went through the Hermosa system and the schools are fantastic. We are also proud sponsors and business partners of the Hermosa Ed Foundation.
As there is no high school in Hermosa students choose between Mira Costa High School in neighboring Manhattan Beach or Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach.
Hermosa View has been awarded the following accolades:
2016 Gold Ribbon School
2016 Designated as a Blue Zones School
2014 CA Distinguished School
2004 California Distinguished School Award
2005 National Blue Ribbon Status
2006, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 Honor Roll Award from California Business for Education Excellence
