The South Bay is most definitely not one uniform real estate market and things can change quickly from neighborhood to neighborhood and even street by street. One of the areas we really like for the value is called El Camino Village. While it’s not an official city (in fact is comprised of 2 different cities) it’s a pocket with sections in both Lawndale and Gardena with a lot to offer. This area has the look and feel of a nearby North Torrance neighborhood with much more affordable prices. It has a great look with tree lined streets, great curb appeal, clear pride of ownership and a friendly and safe feel. Adjacent Bodger Park in Hawthorne also has a similar feel.
Most homes were post WW2 single level tract homes with 1,100 – 1,400 square feet. Many if not most have been nicely updated and almost all have nice outdoor areas with local schools just blocks away.
