It was another great month for home sales in the coastal community of El Segundo and the top sale was located at 627 Penn Street and sold
WAY over the asking price. This spacious single family home offered 5 bedrooms, 5 bath single family home located at 627 Penn in the heart of the city. the home prices were record setting once again. The South Bay real estate market definitely remains a very favorable to sellers.
than the others. 8 The Strand is at the very beginning of The Strand in Hermosa the location and lot size makes for a very different price point than other beachfront homes. Listed at $5, 149,000 the home is in pretty original condition and offers 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and over 2,000+ square feet on a 2,545 foot lot with approximately 30 feet of beach frontage. Normally this would be a lot sale to a builder but the new construction Strand market has been pretty slow so we’ll have to wait and see if a builder scoops this up. One of the challenges with location (if you can say a beachfront home has location challenges) is that this is the 2nd home from the end of the Strand putting it pretty close to some less desirable spots (beach parking lot, AES power plant, etc) but the views and steps to the sand are hard not to love.
approximately 1,850 square feet with 3 bedrooms plus a loft, 3 bathrooms. All 3 bedrooms are on the second floor and the same level which is pretty uniqe for townhouses in the community. Another unique feature is that this is one of the only townhomes we’re aware of that has more than just a front patio and this actually has a bit of a yard. The residence for has entry level kitchen and living areas along with an attached 2 car side by side garage. The second level offers a master suite and bath, 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a separate laundry room. The third floor offers a loft type area that can be used for a variety of functions. The location is pretty special as it’s on the quietest side of the community (away from El Segundo Blvd where the bulk of the Court townhomes are and it overlooks a small parklike area. As with all of
built…..some just have more charm and that certainly appeals to some buyers. 124 8th Street is definitely one of those homes. It’s not huge with only 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and 1,760 square feet, but the look and feel is straight out of Coastal Living Magazine and definitely transports you back to slower days. The home was built in 1909 and has clearly been well maintained and loved over the years. Everything about it exudes original beach charm and the location is just about perfect….steps to the beach and downtown Manhattan. It sits on a 2,700 foot lot on a great south Manhattan walkstreet. It’s price of $5,199,000 is likely going to be a challenge and this home will most likely be sold for the lot, but we sure hope someone that loves the look and feel of original Manhattan Beach keeps it just the way it is.
