Other than the oceanfront homes of the Manhattan Beach Strand, it really doesn’t get any better than this.  In the past few years, builders have been buying every older walkstreet home they could find.  They’ve generally spared no expense in the impressive homes built in these A+ locations.  Recent prices for new construction has been in the lower $8,000,000 and depending on views can go up from there.

These homes generally offer about 4000 square feet with the size varying a bit based on the lot size and just how much extra costs the builder wants to incur.

Terranea Resort Ownership on the Palos Verdes Peninsula

One of our favorite place to feel like you’ve left town (but haven’t) is the Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes.  As realtors we love the fact that the resort not only offers hotel rooms but ownership opportunities as well.  As the resort has such an incredible resort feeling, it’s pretty enticing to think about owning a piece of that vacation lifestyle.  Take a look at the current casitas and villas for sale at Terranea.

The Resort

What makes Terranea so unique isn’t just the luxury amenities or the ocean views….it’s the fact that when you’re at the resort you feel like you’ve left the country…..that you’re nowhere near the craziness of  Los Angeles.   The pace of life is slower and the surroundings are more like a luxury resort in Mexico than a short drive from the South Bay.  The resort has incredible restaurants including Nelsons, Mar’Sel, Catalina Kitchen, Bashi, Solvina, and the Grill at the main pool.   The resort has multiple ocean view pools, fitness center, a fantastic spa and a 9 hole golf course.  Simply put it’s a true luxury resort experience.

How Interest Rate Impact You – Historical Rate Chart

continue to slowly rise.  That’s certainly a valid concern for potential homebuyers as a higher interest rate means a higher monthly payment which most often means a lower priced home.  Taken in historical standpoint the current rates are dramatically lower than at just about any other time.  The chart below shows the interest rate on conventional and conforming 30 year fixed rate mortgages.  As we’ll see we’ve basically seen rates drop consistently since the high water mark of 16.3% in 1981.  It certainly makes todays current rate in the mid 4% range see reasonable!

Sellers – Why Home Staging Makes a Difference

As a realtor I am always striving to get the best price for my clients when selling their homes. As I know that how a home is presented makes a huge difference I believe that every home should look as perfect as possible. Staging can often be major factor in the response that buyers have to a home. Staging can make small spaces look bigger, dark spaces to look brighter, older features to look more updated and can help buyers with their “vision”. Instead of seeing problems and challenges, staging can help a buyer focus on the positive aspects of a home. Below is a simple example of just how different some simple staging can make a home look. We can offer partial staging at no additional costs to our clients (the example below did not cost the seller anything) and was our contribution to trying to do more than other realtors.
