55+ Senior Communities and Homes for Sale in the South Bay
If you’re over 55, the South Bay has a number of great options for you to purchase a home. Due to lesser demand, senior complexes are generally priced well below similar homes that don’t have age restrictions. Many of the complexes were built in the past 20 years and have a very updated and current look and feel more like vacation style hotels than senior living condos. Take a look below at just some of the options and communities in the area.
We would be happy to send you email listing alerts when a new 55+ condo or townhome comes on the market.
If you’re looking for 55+ housing or it might be a good option, please don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know what you’re looking for. For specific information take a look at:

Looking for a Way to Get in the Holiday Spirit? Candy Cane Lane at Torrance’s Sleepy Hollow
We love lights! We love the holidays! One of our favorite ways of getting in the holiday spirit is to visit the holiday lights of the “Candy Cane
Lane” area of South Torrance. Known as Seaside Ranchos in South Torrance the rest of the year, this neighborhood really shines (quite literally) during the holidays. Cars line up and pedestrians take to the streets to enjoy this incredible display of holiday lights and Christmas decorations. It really is something to behold and it’s worth waiting in the line of cars. Even better is doing it by foot but obviously that’s weather dependent.
There are quite a few traffic restrictions this time of year and generally speaking the only way in is westbound on PCH at Robert Road. If you want to walk into the community your best parking options are on PCH or Calle Mayor. The lights are also fairly close to the parking lot at South Torrance High School.
Manhattan Beach Holiday Fireworks Sunday December 8th
We love the holidays and we love living in an area where the holidays mean so much to people. One of the great events that really brings people together is the Manhattan Beach fireworks show. Come out and join your neighbors, friends and family at the 2019 Manhattan Beach holiday fireworks display at the Manhattan Beach pier.
Fireworks are always impressive but combine that with the reflections over the water and the Manhattan Pier all lit up for the holidays and it creates quite a backdrop. The event is capped off with the firework display but it’s far more than that with food, music and even snow. Arrive early if driving as the streets close at 2 and parking becomes an obvious challenge.

King Harbor Boat Parade in Redondo A Great South Bay Holiday Event
The holidays in the South Bay are just awesome. While we don’t exactly have the chance of a white Christmas, the various cities still offer an abundance of events that really give you that small town community feel….and what could be better for the holidays?
From the Manhattan Beach holiday pier lighting and fireworks, to the tree and pier lighting on Pier Plaza in Hermosa, to the Riviera Village Stroll, Santa Clause cruising the streets and more.
One of our personal favorites due to it only being possible along the coast, is the King Harbor boat parade in Redondo Beach. Some boat owners simply go all out and it’s a unique and fun way to celebrate the holidays when you live on the coast.
Dress warm as it’s often chilly (for Southern California) but there are food trucks, cocoa and coffee to keep you warm.

Where to Watch?
