Well the top home sale record for Hermosa Beach set last month at 2826 The Strand Hermosa Beach that sold in May of this year for $18,590,000 didn’t last too long.
There is a new historic high home price in Hermosa Beach and it sold off-market.
2666 The Strand Hermosa Beach just closed escrow for an incredible $19,450,000.

Just about everything with 2666 The Strand was unique from most beachfront Strand homes in Hermosa. Unlike the usual rectangular lots along the Strand, this one was somewhat triangular with a very narrow side on the east, but more importantly a very wide side facing the beach. The lot featured an incredible 71 feet of beach frontage. The home was also camparatively enormous offering almost 7,000 square feet. The home took full advantage of the oversized frontage with glass window walls and a very unique infinity type pool out front.

What a few months it’s been for the beachfront home market in Redondo Beach. There are a number of condos that sell but large oceanfront townhomes and beachfront single family homes are super rare. Until recently. 801 Esplanade is the 3rd single family to hit the market since May and the 4th if you included a nearby townhome.

Today is the first official day of summer, but better than that…..the weather seems to have turned and it actually feels like summer. Let’s hope we’ve turned the corner on May gray and June gloom. Here’s to more sunshine and warm weather. Welcome to summer in the South Bay. Time to hit the beach!

There has been a lot of activity on the beachfront home market in Redondo Beach with several Esplanade homes selling or listing. It’s not unusual to see a one or 2 bedroom condo hit the market but the homes of late have definitely been different.
One recent sale was a 2 bedroom condo in the Casa Bahia building at 555 Esplanade and it was an impressive number to say the least. The large 1,785 foot condo just closed at $2,150,000. The views were impressive and the decks were incredible, but this is a BIG number that we did not envision.
