The already crowded beachfront home market has a new addition and it’s one of the most expensive listings ever to hit the market in 
Hermosa Beach. 600 The Strand is a massive 7,500+ foot corner lot beachfront home with an Italian estate inspiration. The location on a corner walkstreet makes for a much larger outdoor area as it includes city right of way that’s incorporated into the yard. The home offers unblockable views and features 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. The southern sand section location might make for a bit of a challenge in this price range but the corner lot and square footage make it hard to replicate. Welcome to the good life. There are some great locations in the South Bay and Beach Cities, but the street of Paseo De La Playa in the Hollywood Riviera is tough to beat. This is one of our favorite neighborhoods in all of the South Bay and it doesn’t get much better than living oceanfront on Paseo De La Playa.
It simply doesn’t get any better than this. Paseo De La Playa is the bluff front street in the famous Hollywood Riviera. Overlooking the “Queens Necklace” coastline, dazzling daytime views turn into spectacular sunsets which lead to a coastal city light view from Palos Verdes to Malibu. In addition to the very limited number of single family homes on the street, there is an condo complex known as Cote D’Azur which sits oceanfront (although many units have only partial or no ocean views).
The homes on the west side of the street sit ocean front and have lots that extend all the way to the beach. Although it’s nearly impossible to create new access to the beach some of the homes already have trails, paths or stairs to what is almost a private beach. It seems hard to believe given the very small number of beachfront homes and properties that even exist on The Strand in Hermosa and Manhattan Beach, but it is what it is. We’ve written several articles lately about the abundance of beachfront homes for sale in Manhattan and Hermosa and how that’s a very 
different market. Homes often sit for years without selling due, in no small part, to being overpriced. As of 3/11 there are 7 homes now on the market on this beachfront stretch of Manhattan Beach with the newest listing located at 3004 The Strand. This is an older home that we’re excited to see as it’s unusual architecture and we’ve been wondering about this one for years. While it’s an older home it’s not priced at lot value and given the square footage this one might be a bit tough. It’s a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, with 3,348 sqft on a 3,489 sqft lot. Given that the last lot value sale was at $8.25M this one is one of those “tweener” homes (not clearly a tear down and not the modern home Strand buyers are generally wanting) so it will be one to keep a close eye on. It’s priced at $9,495,000.
