One of the unique zoning features of Lawndale CA is the abundance of multi unit properties. These duplexes and triplexes are ideal for investors as they can be fully rented out, or owners can live in one of the units while your renter helps pay your mortgage. While there are duplex properties throughout the South Bay, Lawndale really has an abundance of these investment properties. El Segundo is pretty ideally located near just about everything. The city has Dockweiler Beach which is a beautiful stretch of sand and unlike nearby Hermosa and Manhattan, Dockweiler offers some unique elements….there is one stretch of beach that has on sit firepits making for a series of bonfires (and a party atmosphere) on summer nights and also has RV parking allowing for a much larger access. While Manhattan and Hermosa have homes on the beach, El Segundo does not making it much more accessible. Exercise enthusiasts can enjoy the Marvin Braude bikepath that extends from Palos Verdes up to Santa Monica and the beach even offers hangliding. Shopping and dining options are everywhere and in addition to the Main Street downtown area a number of higher end shopping centers have recently opened including The Pointe.
neighborhoods have a bit of a busier commercial feel and the schools are often not as highly rated as neighboring Redondo Beach and Torrance. What Lawndale may lack in some areas it certainly makes up for in affordability. We put together a chart showing average prices compared with North Redondo Beach which sits just west of Lawndale and offers some similar housing types. One of our favorite areas in terms of
Lane” area of South Torrance. Known as Seaside Ranchos in South Torrance the rest of the year, this neighborhood really shines (quite literally) during the holidays. Cars line up and pedestrians take to the streets to enjoy this incredible display of holiday lights and Christmas decorations. It really is something to behold and it’s worth waiting in the line of cars. Even better is doing it by foot but obviously that’s weather dependent.
